Animal Collective

I saw the Animal Collective at Brixton Accedemy last week.
Flat.
Everything about their show (apart from the lights) was rather dull. I was expecting a more dynamic version of the tracks on their albums...shame really.
Probably better to see them at a smaller venue - but the place was 2/3 full and I saw a lot of people leaving early. Not only that, I was the only bloke there not wearing a lumberjack shirt (buttoned up to the neck naturally)
Here's a live version of My Girls - recorded at a better gig than the one I went to

Wooden Shjips Set Sail

My good friend Brookheimer sorted out some tickets for Wooden Shjips a The Borderline last week. Thanks Brooksy.
Man, were they good. If you can imagine Hugh Laurie on bass, Rasputin on guitar and Noddy Holder on keys you are nearly there. Amazing sonics that just tranced along with little and then big flourishes. this band played like we weren't there. Not in a self centered way - morelike an unposturing 'deep in the sound' kind of way...Brilliant!
I hope all those at The Green Man festival last weekend saw them too
Enjoy this track - go get your timbers shivered by the Wooden Shjips.

Mondo Disco

Hi
My blogging is a bit like buses...
I am playing some sweaty disco music - or is that music to sweat to in a disco? At this great club. Anyhow, it's a pub club with aces selections from the sonic wizzard Ray Mang, the Peter Pan of Disco Steve Lee, the best beard behind the wheels Dave Bumpstead and me!

I will post up a mix of the sort of gubbins I will be playing this saturday - why not swing by?

Prog Goes The Weasel

Crikey! It's been an age...exactly the age of my eldest daughter funnily enough! To break the seal I have made a prog rock, acid funk, kraut goth mix for you to enjoy.
Here is the spiel...

Join me, Reverend Milo, as I take my caravan to Canterbury stopping off in Glastonbury, Mordar and Heaven. The Four Horsemen – Aphrodite’s Child
The Kettle – Colloseum
